Most of the Salmon Season Closes September 30
California's first complete recreational ocean salmon season since 2022 closes on September 30 in most zones, with a few running to October 15. The fall series is fishing under a 20,000 Chinook guideline across all open areas, and in-season action can close days or areas early once harvest approaches it. Check the zone before you launch rather than assuming the posted date holds.
