Nine Days Left on Most of the Salmon Season
California's first complete recreational ocean salmon season since 2022 closes on September 30 in most zones, with a few running to October 15. The fall series is fishing under a 20,000 Chinook guideline across all open areas, and in-season action can close days or areas early once harvest approaches it. If you have been meaning to get out, this is the week to check the zone and go rather than the week to plan it.
